OWCHIES!!!
Gah. I don't see myself as particularly clumsy, but still...
This morning I did something very clumsy. And stupid. I SLIPPED and FELL on a spot of bloody ice. CURSE YE ALL FOR ETERNITY, TREACHEROUS ROADS OF SUBURBIA!
...Ehm.
Anyways. So now I'm slightly impaired and having a hard time walking properly since my stupid hip is being stupid and stuff like that. Egads, I sound like some wasted old geezer who's broken a leg or something...friggin' embarrassing.
But anyways!
As I've said, I'm just home from a week's worth of skiing. Alpine skiing can be described very easily, like this: Pure, undiluted WIN. Is there a better way of using snow out there, then someone'd better tell me about it. I'd sure like to see it. Heh.
Anyways, what you might also know is that Powder Snow Heaven also, quite often, doubles as Sauna Heaven. So after every day you'll have a room heated up to insanity to jump into after a day in the cold - that is also PURE WIN. A log cabin in the mountains may not have much, but as long as it's got close to skiing and a good sauna - it's paradise. Total win. Ya rly.
This space is taken up by a little kudos to the finnish people. Not only since they're the ones who largely invented the sauna (i think), but also since they last year kicked the wiggly ass of the collective europe at Eurovision with the absolutely most kick-ass show ever seen in that usually quite bland event - namely Lordi. Honestly, the finnish are the only ones who are bat fuck insane enough to get the idea of entering the Eurovision with that kind of weirdo monster metal.
...and that's all for praising Finland. Um. I'm feeling spontaneous today...>_<
Also, the hell of school has started once again for me and my fellow mates. Luckily though, since I've skipped my english course (due to skills, of course, not lack of them. Automatic win, A+, 5, or whatever you call it - top grades. Heh. *brag*), and my french course is FINALLY over, I have two blocks less on my daily school agenda - meaning i'll be having hells early quit on mondays, and hells late start on tuesdays and thursdays. In addition, my school has got the whole post-lunch hours dedicated to large tests and stuff, so we usually quit hells early on those days as well. Lucky me, neh?
Anyways, now for the continuance of my DIARY NOTES!!! (part 3)
TUESDAY - 27/2
It all started quite bad - in difference to the day before my body was quite worn out after a whole day of skiing and thus craving more sleep than usual. Thus I barely woke up, living out the morning and breakfast in my usual sleep-deprived, half-dead state. Quite logically it was a bit hard getting by like that; still, I woke up properly in time to go with the first load to the skiing area. This time, i also remembered bringing with me my cell and iPod - something I'd deeply missed during the monday.
When we arrived, it was awfully damn foggy. Not win at all - the whole topside of the mountain was covered in one big cloud, so any serious off-pist or steepslope skiing would have been out of the question, if I wasn't such a bat fuck insane bastard when it comes to skiing. So despite the bad weather conditions, me, my little sister and our two cousins made our way nearly all the way to the beginning rift of the Ravine, using (as i call it) ravine way full-east. It was really fun, although it was more tumbling than skiing for two girls - so we decided to try again after lunch, this time with a troupe expanded with two members: my skiing fanatic and psychotherapist dad, and my tall, much-too-witty mouthed big brother. This time though, even though we succeeded better in skiing down the meter-deep layers of powder snow, I got involved in a little accident. As we were taking the route back through the rift, we suddenly stumbled upon a boulder or something, all covered in snow. I, being a bit of a daredevil outside the pist, took a jump off it - and lost my balance in midair, falling down in a rather casual manner. Then, a millisecond later, comes my cousin, whose skis turns loose at the moment he jumps. He crashes straight down - and falls right on my head. That was not very much win, and I was seriously dizzy for quite a whiles after that - but it faded away (although it returned the next day) by the time we came home. We had an excellent dinner on grilled salmon, made by my brother and his girlfriend, and rather savvy desserts as well.
That's it for today's diary notes! Also, I'd like to mention that despite sauna and snow heavens, skiing days tend to have rather one-sided lunches. EVERY SINGLE DAY WE ATE SANDWITCHES FOR LUNCH. Imagine the horror...
