Totally, man. DUDE. What kind of super-genius was it that invented alpine skiing anyway? DUDE!
After a week up north, the snow down here is starting to melt. Sadly enough, but at least I've got a fair dose of winter injected now, so I'll survive for a while...
So anyways! Thinking of you people I decided to take notes on what I did during my vacation - as well as recording a few live-action videos of my voyages out on the powder heavens of the Ravine! Totally kickass. Unfortunately since YouTube hated me my only means of uploading such things were via Photobucket, which has the slowest upload speeds ever (HATE!!!), so it would have taken a while before those appeared here...if it weren't for the fact that i just fixed that little problem and now am able to do the speedy uploading via there. Rocks! But that's for later on.
Here's my Diary Notes! (parts 1 and 2)
SUNDAY - 25/2
Nationwide chaos of snowfalls. I think it fell some half a meter of snow - and I was on the road! So me and my, so to say, physically older, mentally WAY younger brother got bored - as we were trapped in the aftermath of a car crash and the queue was two miles long and at a complete standstill, it was quite logical - so we wound up doing some crazy shit on that day. It's amazing what ideas you come up with when trapped in a traffic jam, ain't it?
When we arrived I got to do the majority of the shopping of stuff since the rest of the folks were busy packing up things at our cabin, so my arms got themselves a little beating carrying way too many bags of food and such. Ouch.
I ended the day with picking up my cousins at the hotel's bus station, and eating some dinner which i do not remember the contents of. Might have been lasagna, bolognese or some other pasta thing.
MONDAY - 26/2
First skiing day - way to go! The weather was considerably improved from the day before, but we still had a lot of snowing going on - but at least, no wind blowing freezing air in our faces, no extreme temperatures and no fog. It was quite a while since last time I was there skiing though, so I took a few checkups to see how my favourite places were doing - and voila! I found lots of funny stuff.
First off is my absolute favourite - The Wall. No, not the song, morons. It's called the wall, because it's really friggin steep - averages at 45 degrees, and that's way more than that in the beginning of it, i tell you.
Anyways, I took a frenzy on that one for an hour or so, and thus got a quite jolly bit late for lunch. After that I went to the next stop on my checklist - The Ravine, which is a ravine (no shit) in the western part of the mountain, and has the best off-pist in the whole area, according to many (including me). Anyways...ROCKS. I just discovered one of the many Ravine Ways, the much-used half-west (as I call it myself), which is almost like a ski-cross course, but still really cool. I also realized you DO look like a real retard when wearing a ball-shaped helmet, but still, better safe than sorry. And as I was to discover the next day, being safe comes REALLY much easier with than without helmet. Nejin out.
